Moving from Recovery to Discovery

Dr. Edith Eger, renowned trauma recovery therapist, speaker and new author, talks about transitioning from a ‘recovery’ to ‘DISCOVERY mentality in order to release past traumas and accept what may come in your future. Learn about her heroic story of survival and inspiration by reading her new memoir, THE CHOICE: Embrace the Possible.

Meet Dr. Edith Eva Eger

90-year-old Holocaust survivor & thriver, therapist, speaker, and new author, ‘Edie’ Eger invites you to join her at BookPeople on 16-October at 7pm.

Edie and Jennifer Stayton of KUT will discuss her lauded and deeply moving memoir, THE CHOICE. In it, Edie tells her life story of barely surviving the horrors of imprisonment at Auschwitz only to then struggle with freeing herself from the prison of survivor’s guilt and secrets in her own mind.
THE CHOICE is a gift to humanity. One of those rare and eternal stories that you don’t want to end and that leave you forever changed.
—DESMOND TUTU, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate
Ultimately, Edie’s story is one of bravery, freedom, and inspiration. She uses her personal journey and examples from her clinical psychology practice to show how each of us can make the choice to move beyond trauma and go from recovery to discovery.
Edith Eva Eger is my kind of hero. She survived unspeakable horrors and brutality; but rather than let her painful past destroy her, she chose to transform it into a powerful gift—one she uses to help others heal.
—JEANNETTE WALLS, Bestselling Author of The Glass Castle
We hope you’ll be able to join Edie at BookPeople. And also hope you’ll share this invitation with any faculty members or students (or anyone else!) you think would be interested in learning about this amazing woman.
